Ottica Seattle in Bellevue is pleased to host knitting classes by Tatyana Tchibova.  Tatyana as some of you knitting fanatics may know, comes to us from Moscow.  Although trained as an engineer, her passion has been knitting, churning out these beautiful objects d’art for 27 years.  She has taught knitting and crochet classes for many years and worked as a freelance designer for yarn manufacturers.. Tatyana lives in Sammamish.

Tatyana welcomes all levels of knitters and will actually work with the entire group on their particular projects.  So knitters unite—sharpen your needles and let’s create some beautiful works of art.

Her classes are scheduled for 4-week sessions:

Monday, 11:00 – 1:00, 6/14, 6/21, 6/28, 7/12.
Wednesday, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, 6/16, 6/23, 6/30, 7/14.

Prices: $65 for all four sessions, $20 for a drop-in class.

And now for something a little different…

Pen and ink works by Joseph Pentheroudakis.

Using an old-fashioned nib dipped in ink Joseph creates fantastic textiles, or fences, or topography, or, or…you decide.  It’s intricate and minimal at once.

Stop into the store on Main Street and decide for yourself.  On the walls through June.

Orchid Spray I 30x22We’re very excited to feature local artist April Richardson through the new year!  She combines drawing, painting, collage and printmaking to create large mixed media monotypes.

The images are saturated with color, layered with detail and often kissed with gold.  I don’t know about you, but around here we kind of like that.

So stop by and check it out.

We’ve been having fun with Shingo Onodera of Kamuro for the last two days looking at the entire collection and introducing our devoted Kamuro fans to the designer in chief.  Today is the last day to see all of the styles, so if you’re in the area please stop by for a look and a little snack.  We’ll be doing it until 5 p.m. today.

We have a couple of exciting events on the horizon…

First on the menu, so to speak, is the Taste of Main in Bellevue.

Saturday, August 22. This is a one day event on Bellevue’s historic Main Street to benefit the Children’s Response Center.  Fixed price Passports can be purchased and will allow travelers to sample food and drinks from local restaurants and will offer activities for kids.

Secondly, Kamuro trunk show.

Friday and Sunday August 28/30 in our Seattle store and Saturday August 29 in the Bellevue location.  Stop by and meet Shingo Onodera, chief designer for the line and choose from the entire collection.  Kamuro orders placed during the trunk show will enjoy 10% off of the frame.

Keep your eyes open and we’ll try to keep interesting things in your line of vision.
